Hi my name is T.J. Walker. I am 24. My wreck happened when I was 21. I turned 22 in a coma. On June 3rd of 2000 I had a bad car wreck. I was going home and somehow lost control. I hit the guardrail in the median and flipped. I was ejected and landed on my head. I was then hit by an oncoming car and then backed over. I had crushed lungs well really my whole upper body was crushed. My heart was bruised. My brainstem was torn and bruised. I don't remember the wreck at all, but I do remember where I was and everything before and after. Doctors told my parents first of all I would not make it through the night second if did live I would be paralyzed third they will have to re-break all my bones to reset them. I'm glad they were wrong about everything. Now I am doing much better than I should be. I still have trouble with speech swallowing sight and balance. Everything is improving greatly. It is just slow and I got to have patience. I don't want to wait !but I have to. My eyes got better, I didn't think that would ever happen.

I'm not blind I just don't focus well. I am so glad I found this place. Everyone is so understanding and these people know what it is like going through what I have gone through. In 5 years I expect to be exactly the way I was. At the time I wrecked I worked out every day. When I woke up I had lost 70 pounds. Everything I had worked for. Now I don't care. I feel if I hadn't been in good shape I would have died or if I lived I would be really fat now. My balance is bad ,and I don't lift weights now.Everything will be back to normal soon.
