Steve S.

steve October 17, 1996 is the day my life changed forever. I was driving on a 45MPH highway when a drunk driver forgot to stop at the stop sign. She hit my car, spun me around and then I was hit by oncoming traffic. Hello, my name is Steven S., or Michael is my nickname on the chat. I am now 27 years old. I have no memory of the day, and little memory of the month in the hospital. I spent almost a week in a coma, and the doctors gave my bride of two months, and the rest of my family little hope. When I did awake and started to progress, the doctors said it was a miracle, and I was very lucky. I spent another two months in out patient therapy. My only big problem was my memory. They say I had no real brain damage and psycological testing still put me on the higher end of my peers. The only problem they found was attention deficit like problems. I did have a subdural hematoma (or clot) in my head, but they said it was so small that they didnt expect any problems with it. The doctors were wrong, just when thing started to go back to normal and I went back to work in April of 1997, the clot bursted. I started having problems with numbing on my right side, and then even speech problems. The MRI ordered, showed the had grown and forced most of my brain into one half of my head. They rushed me back to the hospitals ICU. The neurologist needed to and did drill two holes in my skull to drain the clot. Surgery went well and I was discharged in a few days. I would like to write more but have to go, will write more later if allowed.

Thanks Steve S. or Michael-as known on chat
