This was the first gallery of artworks, I had created for Blu, Sigun Sandstrom and Jane Pope, all artists, survivors of TBI/ABI. From this "beginners" gallery, I was inspired to build what is now "Artists with Brain Injuries" in honor of all those artists post TBI that became dear to me.

Janice Blu had her first neuro-psyche evaluation on March, 2002 since her TBI of 12/4/97. Through self advocacy, networking and searching, we found Neurologist Dr.G.Fischberg, USC Dept of Neurology, University Hospital, Los Angeles,CA and Michele West, Physical therapist, USC Outpatient Rehabilitation. Both prompted the request to have Blu's neuro-pysch evaluation. Finding of the neuro-pysch eval: Janice Blu has severe aphasia as a result of her traumatic brain injury. What is Aphasia? a•pha•sia (uh-fay'-zhuh) n. An impairment of the ability to use or comprehend words, usually acquired as a result of a stroke or other brain injury. "Aphasiac Man" "Bil's" Story, survivor of acquired brain injury (stroke), a dear friend and peer, who for over four years patiently shared how he was abled to communicate despite abi and aphasia and keeps encouraging me to never give up seeking speech therapy for Blu.
