TRIBUTE TO SIGUN SANDSTROM

The tremendous effort it takes to relearn to so things is brought to the fore, seeing Sigun's watercolor paintings. Her artistic skills are visual extension of her warmth and compassion she showers those that come to know her. Her seat of motivation is to inspired others, who have experienced any type of brain injury, to strive to attain what we can despite what may have befallen us.

Her sincerity, kindness, and caring were a tremendous factor in empowering me to help my daughter "Blu,survivor of traumatic brain injury, to tap into Blu's own artistic world, despite the severity of Blu's injuries and to encourage her to use her previous talents as a tool towards her recovery via art.

Sigun radiates in the beauty of her heart, mind and skills as an artist, so much so that despite oceans apart, she embraced both Blu and I as she does her own children."

Watercolors:"Afton Fagel" by:Sigun Sandstrom, Post/ABI Surivor:Sweden

"Magnificent example of the masterful hands that overcame all odds to now be able to share this tranquil yet rich painting. Sigun's work arouses dormant creativity while simultaneously magnifies her skills and reveals the warm and thoughtful soul we have come to know. Sigun captures the beauty of a dock in a bay I once viewed recalling to mind melodic sounds as the crisp ocean breeze gently swayed as one beheld such beauty with graceful seagulls in flight. Unawares of how such a instance in time now comforts us and enlightens us with Siguns’ gifts, a friend so far away yet sends us her love via her art." Pearl 3/14/02
