well I guess this is where we introduce ourselves! My name is Denny and I am a TBI survivor it happened almost 5 years ago now. I was in the hospital for 4 weeks then I was transfered to another rehabilitation hospital all in all it was 2 months in the hospital. Then when I was discharged they inrolled me in a TBI rehabilitation program which was 8 hours a day 3 times a week for a year, that really helped me get back on my feet so to speak. I was in pretty bad shape had to learn to swallow all over ( I couldn't eat for 2 weeks) and walk, my balance was shot and I could hardly stand up I went from a wheelchair to a walker to a cane and now I can manage on my own. Through almost 2 years of rehabilitation I have regained about 75% of my balance and just recently got back to work I was on SSDI oh I forgot to mention I also have Nystagmus which is halucination of motion which is to say if I move to quickly things seem to be in motion like the spins so at times it is very hard to focus on things, anyway I could go on and on like I am a partimedad now instead of a fulltime one and so on but all in all I feel very lucky that I have improved as much as I have!
