I have been greatly moved by the stories on the tbihome.org site, so I have decided to add my own. Mine may not be as bad as many others; however, it does illustrate how all kinds of head injuries can be damaging.I received mine while working in a library! Libraries are always overcrowded; but professional personnel should know how to behave under such circumstances. In this case, someone did not. I was working in a bottom file on a project that was long and complex. Having finished it, I arose from the floor to hit the back of my head on a top filing cabinet that someone had opened and walked away from. I went to the ER and passed the neurological tests with flying colors; so I was sent home with an ice pack. No one told me that only then were the worst symptoms to appear: vertigo, headaches, etc. The neurologist gave me an MRI which was clean, but my problems persisted. There is nothing such as a "mild" head injury. If anyone else has had a similar experience with a "mild" head injury, please e-mail me. Thanks.
