My TBI story goes back to June 29, 1963.I had just graduated from high school, was accepted to go to Newberry College in September.

I had a two-seater Austin Healy bug eye automobile. The plans for the evening was to switch cars with my older sister(because she had a beautiful white Chevy convertible)and go on a double date.My best friend from Charleston,SC was late as usual so I thought that it would be faster if I went to 'the Shack', high school hang out, and change cars with my sis. Well I was so excited about that darn date I wasn't looking where I was turning .I turned into the path of a speedy Ford Comet that was going to fast for conditions. I was always atheletic in high school:football, basketball and baseball

I turned into the path of the Ford and was thrown out of my car up 15 feet and over 20 feet I landed on my backside(i thought that this was the hardest hit I have ever recieved )

The force of my landing then my head hitting the concrete caused a bi-laterial cranitomy. I was unconcious for 29 days. They performed my surgery in Charleston,SC and eventually through the efforts of my very supportive family I woke up.I had to learn how to walk, talk, everything all over again . So now it is late August time to go to school.I attempted but could not make it to school so I dropped out after 1 semester.Glad I found TBICHAT
