Hi! Well, great news. I'm still 24-hr. care, which gives my Mom, who's also my nurse, a good paycheck. I quit smoking. I now smoke 3-5 cigarettes a week, compared to the 30 a day before my accident.
I've also had a 24-hour E.E.G. My neurologist, who did my brain surgery in 94, has never heard of caffeine causing a seizure! I drank 52 oz. of caffeine and had no problem! So, to me, the accident was well worth it! Other than using a canee, I now have what i should've had w./ brain surgery ---> short-term memory loss, and no more seizures!
In 1976 I was diagnosed with epilepsy. I eventually quit school, and was in night-school the following week. i had seizures, caused by epilepsy, and the majority of them were in the daytime. I graduated in 1983, one yuear after my class graduated.
In 1994, I underwent brain surgery for these seizures. I was supposed to have short-term memory loss, but didn't. I just kept having seizures. my Dr. told me it was okay toi drink caffeine, and I was drinking a pot and a half a day!
I was dating Wayne since Aug. of 92. Summer of 94, he kissed anoth4er gal. When he told me, I run to my room and said, "God, if Wayne's not the man for me, pleaase play "I Will Always Love You", by Dolly Parton!" It was the next song! So I said, "God, if that was You, and no coinsidense, let me have a bad dream about Wayne!" Three nights later, I wake up, crying!
Christmas of 95, he asked me to marry him. I told our kids, "It's up to you kids!" I went to bed that night, and said, "Well, God, I'm turning it over to You. But i'll be honmest: as long as Wayne and I are both living, i'm choosing to go against your word! You do what you want!"
Four montths later, Wayne gets killed in my accident. At his funeral, my Mom met a "secret" 24 year old son!
After being in a coma for two weeks, I wake up, having wrong what i should have had with the brain surgery: short-term memory loss, and no more seizures!
i now walk with a cane. But beleive me, the accident was well worth it to finally be seizure-free for the 1st time since 1976!
