Marcus Colburn Marcus is our newest addition to the team of 2005. I met Marcus at a surfing/volleyball tournament in Costa Rica. His story and life are an amazing display of resilience and courage. Marcus was a Navy seal skydive specialist who also surfed, skateboarded, practiced karate, and played the piano and guitar.
Six years ago, on Marcus’ 501st jump, another jumper burst through his chute at 3000 feet, seeing him into a high speed spiral to the to the ground. Marcus does not remember the fall, or the six weeks of coma that he went through. He does remember the vegetative state of five months, and the doctor’s gloomy prognosis- he had only been given a five percent chance of coming out of the coma at all. We can only imagine the pain and dedication it took to rehab back into the walking, talking, sports performing person he now is.
I was so personally impressed by Marcus that I decided to sponsor him as an athlete. He races in duathlons and tri-athlons, is a motivational speaker and trainer, and I personally saw him in the surf in head high Costa Rican waves- CHARGING. Look for pics of Marcus in the P as the year goes on- let’s all learn a little about life from this unbelievably inspiring guy- GO MARCUS!
